A small block of wood is turned like a thick bowl with rounded rim. A pad ( paper towel) is place over the rim of the jamb chuck. WebFirst, I use it as shown; to true-up a tenon or recess to prepare to put it on the chuck for a second turn. Then, when the bowl is done I put it in the donut chuck again and remove the tenon/recess and clean up the bottom. If you are turning a bowl in one step, just use the donut chuck to clean up the bottom as your last step.
